TSURUMI Works

Tsurumi Works of Yokohama Shipyard, fronting the Port-of-Yokohama "Tsurumi Tsubasa Bridge", is readily accessible by overland and sea routes. Situated well inland from the open sea, the shipyard offers a sheltered location, which makes it an ideal location for shipbuilding and ship repair. At the occasion of foundation of Universal Shipbuilding Corporation in October, 2002, Tsurumi works was born of the consolidation of Hitachi Zosen Kanagawa Works and NKK Tsurumi Works. Offering the know-how, technology and experience of both shipyards in one, our new facilities additionally installed to existing ones are making Tsurumi Works more and more strategic in the building and repair of various ships such as the government ships for The Marine Defense forces, The Japan Coast Guard, plural customs as well as merchant ships. Collectively, we are proud of the record to have built over 120 minesweepers to date. Since January, 2013, New integration of the technological strengths of both Tsurumi Works & Isogo Works Of Yokohama Shipyard strongly position the Japan Marine United Corporation for future growth and expansion together.
