Vancouver Shipyards Co. Ltd.

Vancouver Shipyards Co. Ltd., originally incorporated in 1902, moved in 1968 from the shores of downtown Vancouver to its present thirty-five acre custom-built facility on the North Shore of Burrard Inlet at 50 Pemberton Avenue, in North Vancouver.

SYNCROLIFT
  • 82.3 metres long (270 feet) x 21.3 metres wide (70 feet)
  • 1,200 tonne lift capacity
  • Cranage to 100 tonnes

BUILDING BERTH

  • Level shipbuilding berth and side launchway
  • 168 metres (550 feet) x 30 metres (98 feet)

MACHINE SHOP

  • 1,740 square meters (18,750 square feet)
  • Two 40-tonne overhead cranes
  • 10 lathes up to 18 metres (60 feet) long bed with
    2.45 metre (96 inch) diameter turning capability
  • 6 boring mills up to 2.5 metre (99 inch)
    diameter and 22 tonne capacity
  • Planers up to 6 metre (20 feet) stroke
STEEL FORMING
  • 21,000 square foot covered shop
  • Brake presses up to 1,000 tonnes
  • Roll bender to 17 metres x 2 centimetres (40 feet x 3/4 inch) plate
  • Frame bender to 440 tonnes

PAINT SHED

  • 20,000 square feet, fully enclosed
  • Accommodate vessels up to 90 metres
    (295 feet) x 21 metres (70 feet)
